Ramblers Skydiving

The Ramblers Drop Zone at Toogoolawah, near Brisbane in Australia is Queensland’s largest and longest established skydiving operation. They have been teaching people to jump out of aeroplanes since 1972 and taking people for tandem jumps since 1984. They are conveniently located around the corner from Toogoolawah Motel.

Watts Bridge Memorial Air Field

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is located near Toogoolawah in South East Queensland, Australia. The runways and associated infrastructure were originally built in 1942 as part of the Australian World War II defense program.

Although the facilities are usually reserved for members of the airfield, they host great family friendly events like the Brisbane valley airshow.

Somerset Dam

Somerset Dam has a serious role to play as one of Brisbane’s most important water catchments but when the sun is shining, the boats are out and the folks are splashing around, it’s strictly a carefree zone. Located approx 18 minutes drive from Toogoolawah Motel, it is a great little spot to take the kids for a day trip.

WIVENHOE DAM

Wivenhoe Dam is South East Queensland’s largest water storage and is the main supply of water for Brisbane and the greater Ipswich area. It is also a very popular recreation destination. It is located approx 30 minutes from Toogoolawah Motel.

TOOGOOLAWAH RAILWAY MARKETS

Come along to the Toogoolawah Railway Saturday Markets. Located on Railway Reserve, Cressbrook Street. The markets are open every third Saturday of each month from 7am – 12pm

BRISBANE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) follows the disused Brisbane Valley rail line that commenced construction at Wulkuraka near Ipswich in 1884 and was completed at Yarraman in 1913. The BVRT winds its way up the Brisbane valley, traversing farmland, forests, picturesque rural settings and country towns.

The Somerset Regional Art Gallery has a rich history, formerly home to the Nestle condensed milk factory packing facility.

Now a unique cultural precinct, the gallery hosts rotating exhibitions, featuring works across various mediums and is available for workshops and community art events.

The Art Gallery is conveniently located 2 minutes drive from Toogoolawah Motel.

TOOGOOLAWAH HISTORY MUSEUM

Tour Queensland’s oldest railway station built in the 1880s at Toogoolawah – now home to a historic museum, town hall. Stroll through the museum of local artifacts housing the station’s original party line telephone, and ask about searches of the region’s founding families.
